Funds not payed in full by GEPF

<p>My mother-in-law was an employee of Dept of Education for a period of 44 years. Upon retirement in 2015, she app**** for her pension fund and to her surprise not all of the benefits where paid out. GEPF only paid for the period from 1 ********** , no money was paid out for the 1 ********** service. She has since been sent from pillar to post just to make sense of the discrepancies when querying the outstanding amount with the GEPF consultants. <br />Furthermore she found that the system somehow claims to have paid out for the period in question while she was actively serving the state(System glitch “funds transferred to other funds”). This was noticed by one of the consultants while investigating. GEPF is unable to provide the proof of payment for that period and she has never received notification of such a payout. <br />What is disturbing is the fact that a number of consultants are aware of this discrepancy however they are unable to address the issue or refer her to someone who is capable.<br />Please advise on how to best get resolution on this matter.</p>
