I discovered that my GEPF summary benefits were fluctuating between Jan 2015 to April 2015. the difference between Jan and February was R118 727,00 less. I complained to the GEPF office in Durban, Salmon Grove and they forwarded the complaint to head office in Pretoria. I also phoned ***** hotline and got ref no: T31467 on the 14th of May 2015. I made a follow up call again but was told that they had called me on the 17th of June to clear my complaint, which was not true. I asked them to forward their findings through my email but they refused, instead gave me this no to call: ***. they never gave their names when I asked them to do so. the no they gave me is invalid. please help.

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint.
With regards to your enquiry, please be advised that the GEPF's Board of Trustees has revised the F(Z) and A(X) actuarial factors.
The implementation date of the revised factors is in respect of all GEPF members who exited the Fund on or after 1 April 2015.
1. The change in the resignation benefit is as a result of the revised actuarial factors used in the calculation of the minimum benefit (Rule 14.4.1a).
2. The revised actuarial factors were approved by the Minister based on the recommendation from the Fund.
3. The benefit structure itself did not change.
4. The effective date for the revised factors is 1 April 2015 thus the difference between the amounts.
