Appalling

<p>My mom retired in December 2016 and she is yet to receive her pension payout. How is she expected to live? Every month she has to pay GEMS over R2000 and yet she is not receiving any money since December. She has chronic medication she has to take. Not to mention the bills she has to pay. I've never experienced such a cruel system. Her documents have been sent back and forth but since April they have been stuck in some office somewhere at the GEPF and there is no explanation as to why that is. She is told to call every week to check on the progress of her application and every week she is told it has moved and there is no response as to why it is still there. Of course she is told there is no one else she can speak to. This is really appalling and sad to think that she must lose all her valuables first before she can get what is due to her. 37 years of service and this is the thanks she gets. </p>
