almost two years no payout

I am a beneficiary of my late mother who passed away in April 2014 . Myself along with two of my siblings were nominated as beneficiaries, we have since been waiting for the benefits to bepapaid out . when calling enquiries we are advised that the file is with the forensics, how long is the file being investigated and what is it that causes such a delay? <br> ID number ***
