How do I get rid of my GoSolr system

We have been GoSolr subscribers for more than 3 years and we recently sold our home. The new owners do not want the GoSolr system, so we lodged a de-installation request at the beginning of May 2026, well within the 20 day notice period.

Apart from the automated response, we received no proactive response from GoSolr. Even though we regularly followed up on the ticket, they initially claimed that their was no ticket on their system. Repeated attempts to follow up resulted in always being told that the case is with Retentions. Retensions has yet to contact us.

After five weeks, we finally reached Palesa in Retentions, the only GoSolr employee who actually helped us. She was appalled at the failure, escalated immediately, got an invoice raised, and made sure we received it. We paid the de-installation fee in full on 5 June 2026.

Since then, despite following up multiple times a day and sending multiple emails, we have not a confirmation of removal date. We cannot obtain an electrical compliance certificate until the system has been removed which is delaying the transfer process.

To add insult to injury, the GoSolr manager suggested we pay an additional R5,000 as a "rush fee." This delay is GoSolr's failure entirely, we submitted our request on time.

As of today, 9 June 2026, there has been no action on GoSolr's part to provide us with a de-installation date. This turns us from happy customers to active detractors.

RECOGNITION OF PALESA BAHOLO

I want to take a moment to recognise Palesa Baholo in GoSolrs' Retentions Team.
We have been battling GoSolr's Retentions department for over five weeks trying to arrange a de-installation.
We followed up daily and Retentions was always going to call us back but they never did. It was exhausting and, frankly, unacceptable.
Then we got through to Palesa. She didn't make excuses. She listened, she took ownership immediately and she was visibly and genuinely frustrated on our behalf. She walked our ticket through to Accounts herself, got the invoice raised, and made sure we received it. Palesa was calm, capable, and completely professional. She has continued to advocate for us even after her part was technically done.
GoSolr as an organisation still has serious work to do, but Palesa is exactly the kind of person every company should have, and should hold onto.
She represents the standard the rest of the business should aspire to.
If your call ever reaches Palesa, you are in good hands.

Hi Francois,

Thank you for sharing your experience in such detail. We fully understand how stressful this must be.

We also want to acknowledge your kind words about Palesa and will make sure she receives the recognition she deserves.

This has been escalated to our senior team as a matter of urgency, and a member of our team will be in contact with you directly to provide you with a confirmed de-installation date and work towards resolving this without any further delays.

Kind regards,
The GoSolr Team
