Avoid GoSolr

We signed up for a medium package (with an extra battery) from GoSolr.

Installation was done on Wednesday 17th May 2023. The installation has some questionable finishes, but most importantly the installers placed the batteries on the floor of my garage, blocking a parking space. They explained that they didn't have wall mount brackets as the reason for this. - We were not informed beforehand. - There are other spaces in our garage that could have been used.

That night we discovered that: - The roof where the panels were installed was letting rain in. - The system didn't even last 2 hours while drawing 800/900w (it should last at least 8).

The next day (Thursday 18th) we discovered that - The solar panels had not been connected to the system and were not charging the system. - The geyser has been connected to the inverter, which it should not be (meaning I have to manually switch it off when we are affected by loadshedding).

In the morning I made a call and was told that 2 separate teams would come. One to fix the hole in the roof, the other to solve the electrical issues. Despite several calls throughout the day, promising that teams were on the way, no one came.

On Friday 19th May I again made calls and was assured that teams would come to resolve all issues.

A team did come and fix the leaking roof issue.

But, again, despite NUMEROUS calls, and confident assurances, no one arrived to fix the electrical issues.

It is now Friday evening and we have a solar power installation that: 1. Is not charged by sunlight. 2. Does not hold enough power. 3. Is for some reason connected to our geyser. 4. Prevents me from parking my car in the garage.

We shall see what Monday brings.
