Google's authentication failure processes

After resetting my gmail password my phone was signed out, all recovery steps were performed, however, I still cannot sign into my account. I created a temporary email in hopes that I would be able to sync the two accounts,however, I have had no joy. This is extremely frustrating especially when I am now losing bursaries due to authentication process that lead to dead ends. Disappointed in Google.
