GoodYear Tyres Plausible Questionable.

Bought Good Year Wrangler HP 265/65/17 Tyres for my Toyota Bakkie..99% on tar roads. After only 14 000km tyres started to "'Flake"' ( the edges starts to crumble ) According to the GoodYear rep it is a normal occurrence. (Factual from their experts) Never have I came across a tyre that Flake and its normal. Driving 30 odd years. I would not recommend the range of tyre . Although she said it would not influence the longevity/quality of the tread of the tyre....I doubt it highly and the performance? Again I doubt the '"expert"' advice from them.
