Dishonest staff/false advertising
20/11/2021 - I went to Goodhope tyres Kuils River branch the morning to purchase 2 of the 205/60/16 tyres which were on sale for R899 each. - The cashier Milandi said the tyres were R900 each, i said on the ad pamphlet the price is clearly advertised as R899, she just laughed and rang up R1800 for the 2 tyres and R100 for the 2 new valves and balancing. - I knew it would be pointless to engage any further with the cashier regarding the R899/R900 matter as she had just ignored my first attempt, also i needed the tyres and was pressed for time because i had to start work at 13H00, so i purposed i would take the matter further. - The cashier said i could have the tyres fitted at any branch because there were many customers waiting to have tyres fitted there, so i said i would go to Blackheath branch as it was on our way home. - I asked her to issue a new invoice for the tyres only as i would have to pay for the valves and balancing at Blackheath branch, she said i should just show them the receipt and they would do the job, and the guy who was with her there gave me the 2 new tyres, signed on the receipt and said Blackheath branch should call him if there was a problem to assist me. - At Blackheath branch they asked whether Kuils river branch had given me the 2 new valves because the new tyres had to be fitted with new valves , i said no and explained what had transpired and that the guy who had signed on the receipt said they should call him. - They then just fitted the new tyres with the old valves still in place. - 20/11/2021 - At 21H55 i sent an email to *** regarding the matter and also attached the invoice and the ad pamphlet. 22/11/2021 - At 11H10 i received an email response from Goodhope tyres admin saying the matter had been escalated to their head office. 24/11/2021 - At 10H56 i received an email from Gino Malyon saying he was investigating my complaint. 29/11/2021 - At 11H09 i sent an email to Gino Malyon saying i would appreciate it if i could send my banking details and have my R22 ( the R20 charged for 2 new valves which were not supp****/fitted and the R2 extra charged for the tyres) refunded. 30/11/2021 - At 11H57 i received an email response from Gino Malyon saying ' you are welcome to send your banking details for the R22 refund', and i then thanked him and sent the details. 10/11/2021 - At 8H28 i sent an email to Gino Malyon saying i had not received the R22 refund yet, to this day i have not received any response. - I then contacted MIO because i knew i had a legitimate claim/matter, the acknowledged receipt of my case, 2 weeks later they sent me an email saying the matter did not fall within their mandate. - I then submitted all the details to CGSO, waited the 15 working days for any feedback, to this day no response, so i sent them an email saying i would escalate the matter as per there website procedure, i received no response to that email either. - I then submitted the matter to NCC, absolutely no response to this day.
It is clear that *******ion has become the norm in South Africa, so i acknowledge the work you people do to still help the customer.
Thank you. Michael.
