Check your tyres after going to Good Hope Tyres DUNLOP ZONE
I visited Good Hope Tyres at 3:40pm on Friday 16 October to have my wheel balancing and alignment checked, and also asked them to check my wheels for punctures. I then went across the road to the pharmacy to do some printing (as I was told it would take around 30-45 minutes to complete). When I returned at 4:30, the lady told me that they had removed the left front tyre, but could not do the alignment or balancing on the tyres as they assured me they needed to be replaced. I asked them to please put the car back to the way it was as I need to budget for such a sudden expense, and my house is less than 3 kilometers from there. After they reattached the front left wheel they reassured me that they would not be charging me as they did not need to do any work, and I explained to them that I would likely come back to them to have the tyres replaced as soon as I can afford to. When I drove away I was driving less than 5km/h so I didn't notice that the front right wheel was buckling. As soon as I pulled away from the robot at the corner of greenways and the cemetery, I realised something wasn't right and put my hazards on, and reduced my speed. I did an immediate u-turn as I was in the right lane, pulled over and checked the wheel nuts, and found the right front wheel had a loose nut. I phoned them in a state of shock, having just realised that if I had driven any faster I could have seriously damaged the car and been involved in an accident. I asked the lady (the same lady who had helpfully assisted me before, and she assured me that they had not removed any of the other wheels). I asked her how the wheel nut got loose then, since I had just left there. I told her that I didn't feel safe to drive back to their shop, as I couldn't get the nut to tighten, which I later learned was due to an attachment I needed to use with the tyre spanner which was in the kit. She did not have any recommendation, and said she would phone me back. I then proceeded to drive back to their establishment and ask for assistance, to which the same guy who was working on my car helpfully came out to come and fasten the nut. I went back inside and asked them if I could speak to management, to which they said, the manager had already left, and I could phone them on Monday.
This was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life, and I feel utterly disgusted with the service I received after this happened.
