Movies at Gold Reef Staff think they know EVERYTHING - OOPS They in Fact DON'T

So myself and my son wanted to buy tickets to go and watch Captain America or Jungle Book. Your very unhelpful staff selling the tickets and your Manager on duty at the time (African woman, 14:30 on 30 May), were arguing with the lady in front of me that they will not sell her tickets that has a PG 10 on the Movie. I’m sure if you ask them, they will both remember us very well. So she tried to explain to them that they do not understand the meaning of PG and that it is HER choice as the Parent on what movie her child can watch and if she knows the boundaries then she can let her child watch any PG movie. They refused to sell her tickets. I then jumped in and explained to them as well that it is MY choice what my child can watch and they CANNOT refuse me to buy tickets and enter. So let me inform you as per Media, Law and Publications what PG means and you better very quickly inform your staff at Gold Reef City to drop the attitude that they can make a decision on this and that they have the right to refuse anyone to buy a ticket and enter. The Ratings means as per the MPAA: G – General Audiences (All Ages permitted) PG – Parental Guidance suggested. Some material may be inappropriate for children under the age mentioned PG 13 – Parents strongly cautioned and Guidance suggested. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13 R – Restricted. Children under the 17 required accompanying parent or adult guardian NC-17 – No one 17 and under admitted So the answer from the MPAA is – There is NOTHING ******* about bringing a 10 year old to a PG13 movie or a 7,8 or 9 year old to an PG10 movie – because that is exactly what the rating means. YOU, as a parent, are allowed to determine if your child is mature enough to handle the subject matter of a given film. Quoting directly from the MPAA’s definition and description of PG ratings. So my friend brought her 12 year old child to Gold Reef City Movies last weekend to watch Jungle Book and you guys refused to sell her tickets because the graphics in the movie is to “hectic” for her child to watch in 3D. THIS IS NOT YOUR CHOICE TO MAKE. Sell the damn tickets and let the PARENTS Decide as per the MPAA what we think our Kids can handle. This has got nothing to do with you. You can block people from buying tickets for kids on Restricted Movies (where it still states it is with guardian or parents accompanying) or NC-17, BUT NOT FOR ANY PG, PG10-12 or PG13 movie!!! You better sort this out IMMEDIATELY. I will go there and I will Buy tickets to go watch Jungle Book and if you refuse me I WILL MAKE THE BIGGEST SCENE and I WILL TAKE THIS MATTER FURTHER WITH LAWYERS seeing that you guys think that you are above the set out Film rules. And that useless Card you give people that says Head Office on it when they complain about the PG not wanting to sell us tickets, says NOTHING. Do not humiliate yourselves even more by giving this to Customers and telling them to phone the number on there… IT MEASE NOTHING! There is NO LAW that says you not allowed to sell us tickets on any PG movies with our Kids with us. AGAIN, it is my decision. I will also post this to Facebook so that EVERYONE can see this and not go to your movies as word of mouth on Social Media is the biggest downfall for any Company and if you see a Decline in your Movie visits don't be surprised. I cannot believe your Staff. They REFUSED to sell us tickets. PLEASE EXPLAIN THE ABOVE TO THEM VERY URGENTLY AND TELL THEM THAT THEY HAVE MESSED WITH THE WRONG PERSON THIS TIME AROUND, TRYING TO PLAY BOSS OVER CUSTOMERS!!!!!!
