Gold Reef City Disaster

Absolutely discussed in the way management and staff (especially ground manager Veron) manage incidents and ensure clients safety at Gold Reef City Theme Park.

On 19 March 2023 at 15:45 pm, an argument broke out whilst in line for the Runaway Train. A member of family A reprimand a member of family B for jumping the line which was prohibited by signage all around the theme park. Furthermore, the man from family B who was skipping the line, proceed to push the wife and children of family A out the way. The husband of family A then requested that a supervisor attends to the matter to avoid any confrontation.

Over 20 staff members from Gold Reef City were unable to control the incident and put the safety of every other patron at risk by no escorting either of the parties away from the public eye.

Lastly, when asking Veron from management if they are going to ensure everyone else's safety I was said to keep my mouth shut as he has the incident undercontrol. He then called armed security into a public space and removed only members from family A which were the minority.
