GoDaddy is a no-go

Very unhappy. Domain was set to auto-renew. Recieved an email that my domain had expired without any communication from GoDaddy that they were not able deduct relevant fee from my card. Phoned them to enquire about problem and was told I had to pay R1300 "redemption" fee to reactivate my domain as well as the usual R99.00 domain fee. When asked why they had not informed me about the problem, they just said that they had an automated system and could not justify why I had not received any notification.

Based on similar reviews on this site, I am beginning to suspect that this is their modus operandi.
