Godaddy - Forget about a refund!
I asked for a refund in an email to their billing department. on the same day that the payment went through. Well within their refund policy of 48 hours after the payment. The email was sent to ***. Didn't hear from them. There was nothing in the email from *** to suggest that the email address was not being monitored. When nothing happened 72 hours later - finally getting through to one of their chat operators - I was told that they can not give the refund due to it being more than 48 hours. The day of the refund - I actually tried the chat too - there was a 14 min wait - after 25 minutes - I gave up. Fat lot of use. Anyway - I'm rid of them now, just have to figure out how to close my account or delete it. Sometimes it's worth paying $19.95 to get rid of something. With godaddy you should save yourself the trouble of getting involved with them in the first place - They're expensive and their policies suck. And then if you need information - it is difficult to obtain. Such as finding the delete button on the account - It's about as difficult as getting to the bit where they discuss the method of actually getting a refund - suppose it's way way down on the blah blah blah. - I still haven't found that either - doesn't matter now. Found a local host that's much cheaper and I can phone or email them - How's that for service. I think godaddy is going bust that's why they're acting this way. Well if they're not, they soon will be with this type of pathetic service!
