Gobid is a ****!!!
As a consumer, there is nothing more frustrating than feeling like you have been taken advantage of by a car dealership. Unfortunately, this is exactly how I am feeling after my recent experience with Gobid car dealership in Springs. After researching and discovering that Gobid has been accused of being a scheme for buyers, I am now taking action to get my money back through the protection offered by Section 45 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. First, let's discuss what Section 45 of the Consumer Protection Act is and how it protects consumers like myself. This section states that if a consumer has entered into an agreement for the supply of goods or services, and the supplier has breached the agreement, the consumer has the right to receive a full refund or replacement of the goods or services. This means that as a consumer, I have the legal right to request a refund from Gobid for any goods or services that were not delivered as promised or a purchase I'm unhappy about. In my case, I entered into an agreement with Gobid car dealership to purchase a car. However, upon viewing the car physically ,I discovered that it had multiple issues that were not disclosed to me during the sales process, car overheating, wires hanging, engen wobbling when you start, the list is endless..This is a clear violation of the Consumer Protection Act and entitles me to a full refund under Section 45. As a consumer, I am exercising my rights and demanding a refund from Gobid. Furthermore, the Act also requires suppliers to provide consumers with accurate and transparent information about the goods or services being sold. In my experience, Gobid failed to provide me with all the necessary information about the car I purchased, leading me to believe that I was getting a good deal. This misrepresentation is a serious offense and reinforces my decision to seek a refund under Section 45. It is also worth noting that the Consumer Protection Act was enacted to promote fair business practices and protect the rights of consumers. This means that as a consumer, I have a right to receive goods or services that are of good quality, fit for their intended purpose, and free from any defects. Gobid failed to meet these standards, and therefore, it is my right to request a refund under Section 45. In conclusion, my experience with Gobid car dealership has been nothing short of disappointing. As a consumer, I trusted that I was making a fair and reasonable purchase, only to find out that I was misled and taken advantage of, now gobid is refusing to give me my full refund, and they are forcing me into a consignment deal, meaning if they sell the car for R5000 that's exactly what will be due to me, even though i have paid over 70k for the car.. Gobid is a ****!!
6. All vehicles are sold as “Motor Salvage”, irrespective of their condition, and therefore sold “as is”.
8. Vehicle descriptions are a representation only, and GoBid as well as its sellers, cannot be held liable for errors
9. When any vehicle shows "Starter" or “Asset Starts = yes” indicator, this means the vehicle started when we received the vehicle, and due to various factors, and more commonly because vehicles stand for long periods awaiting registration papers, may not start when you collect the vehicle. 18. 1 Bidders may view all vehicles online at www.gobid.co.za. Viewing is a free service, and bidders do not need to register in order to view any items for sale
18.2 We encourage all buyers to visit our premises to inspect the vehicle should they be unsure before making a purchase.
18.15 Bidders should also take into account other fees that may be necessary to get the vehicle in a working condition which will be for their own account, such as but not limited to repairs, keys, transportation, licensing, Police Clearances, roadworthy etc.
At no point does GoBid not share that we sell motor salvage that needs repairs, and that vehicles are sold as is. We are not a dealership.
Best regards,
