Roaming Excessive!!

<p>I have had a cellphone contract with various companies for 15 years and never have I had to pay for international roaming. Every company has simply just activated this with a simple phone call. Glocell requires a R5 000 deposit (which they say is returnable) before they will activate this particular service - just for me to use my cellphone overseas, I have to pay this ridiculous amount. There must be some alternative to such nonsense! Why make everything so difficult? This amount is simply excessive - what else can be done about this?! My trip is next week. My account is always in good standing and I am a responsible user when it comes to overseas travel because I know of the exorbitant costs with data and calls ... can someone help with this?</p>
