Glocell - Welcome to the Mobile Generation...and pathetic service!

I was an Autopage Cellular customer, who provided internet data to me - two Cell C data packages to be exact. I recently learned that Glocell had taken over the Cell C customers of Autopage - and I learned this when I received a statement and some invoices from Glocell. This is when the pain started:

1 - The invoices were wrong, and they were due to overcharge me for the two data lines. I used to pay R 378 pm at Autopage, Glocell wanted to charge me R 796 for the same service. I logged a complaint via email and received a ticket number - no subsequent response was provided. I tried to phone and eventually (after holding on for an extended period) got through to a support agent - this person acknowledged the error and corrected it...and I was charged R 398 for that month's internet usage...still not the same as what I paid with Autopage.

2 - Payment was done via debit order, and I cannot recall ever giving the authority for this to Glocell.

3 - I ran out of data (my doing) and wanted 'top up'...I could do this previously through the Autopage website. The Glocell app did help and I eventually called again, hung on again and was then told that the top bundle would be added...which it wasn't and when I called again the next day, I was told that due to the 'package' I was on, I could not do a top-up. That is when I decided that I had enough of Glocell.

4 - I submitted written notification to terminate my contract and received email confirmation that it would be terminated end of May, but that I would still pay for May's data.

5 - I got billed for May's data (R 398) plus the 1 Gb top-up which I never received.

6 - Phoned again, again waiting for a long time and eventually got hold of agent who (again) confirmed that the contract will be ended end May and that the top-up charge is incorrect.

7-At the end of May the debit order went off, and I paid R 149 for the top-up, which I didn't receive.

8 - And low and behold...2 June and both my data lines are still working...so the contract was not terminated.

I didn't ask for Glocell to be my service provider and I want the contract with them terminated - based on my experience, their service is absolutely pathetic and I would not recommend that anyone use them as a service provider.

Let's see whether anything comes of this.

Dear Glocell, thank you for the feedback...the attempt at a response is appreciated. I have since learned (after again holding on for several minutes to get hold of a call centre operator) that my contract was (still hasn't been) not cancelled by the due date (end of May) due to a backlog in processing termination instructions. The call centre operator told me that she would investigate and 'get back to me' regarding this matter - still waiting for feedback. JUST CANCEL THE CONTRACT, HOW HARD CAN IT BE?

Oh yes, I also received an email from Zanele Zweni, from the office of the CEO...she told me that the 1 Gb top-up was a once-off cost, "which means you only asked for it once and it won't show on your following involve not unless you request it" (directly quoted). Hopefully there will not be any following invoices and that is really not the point - the point is I paid for something which I NEVER RECEIVED. I DIDN'T GET THE TOP-UP DATA...BUT WAS CHARGED FOR IT!!

Just cancel the contract, how hard can it be?
