GLocell MSC Cruise - lies lies lies

In April 2016 I upgraded my contract with Glocell. The only reason I did this was because they promised me a MSC cruise worth R8000. This seemed like a pretty good deal. I was happy to be on a month to month contract until I felt like I wanted to upgrade, but this seemed too good to be true, I mean! If I just knew then what I know now.

I received my voucher via email in May. This voucher stated that I can book my cruise from November 2016. November came and I tried to get hold of an agent. Then they say they can’t hear you and drop the call (probably because cell c signal is so poor wherever you go in sa!!). When I finally came through they said that they will send me a booking form to fill in. I received the booking form and emailed it back with the intention of going on the cruise 27-28 January 2017 from Durban. I sent this email together with my voucher I received in May as well as my upgrade contract form (which was also a ***** up and I have previously told hellopeter about this unprofessional behavior from Glocell). Two weeks went by, no feedback. I phoned they told me they will come back to me, I emailed and received no reply.

On 29 November I receive a customer detail form stating that everyone who fills out this for and emails it back before 30 November (1 DAY!!) will be accommodated on the cruises. I immediately filled in the form and emailed it back. I received a sms stating that they received my form and will be in touch soon. Two weeks went by no reply. I phoned in the beginning of the 2nd week of December. I asked about feedback for the cruise. They told me that they could not find my name on the list and will phone me back before the end of the day. NO one phoned me so by the end of the 2nd week in December I phoned again, I talked to Thabo he informed me that there are no more cruises available for 2016/2017 and that Glocell will provide me with a voucher worth R8000 to go on any cruise for the 2017/2018 MSC cruises. He told me that I should phone Glocell self on ********** and that they will help me from now on as there is nothing that he can do. I immediately phoned Glocell. First they could not find my name on the list, which made me furious as I had received a sms stating that they received my detail form thus I should be accommodated. They told me that they will let their manager phone me back before the end of the day to confirm my voucher for 2017/2018. No-one phoned. The week after I phoned Glocell again, now I was furious as so many promises has been made to me already and none have been kept. The agent told me that he will let his manager phone me before the end of the day, I said no I will not accept that I want to speak to him now or I want a phone number on which I can contact him. The agent told me that you cannot contact self. I told him that I am very upset with their poor service and the lies that they tell and that I am going to go to hellopeter with this. He hung up in my ear.

I did not receive any feedback from the manager since that day. I received a sms and an email now stating that I have received R8000 discount on my contract. What am I supposed to do with that?? Glocell can take their R8000 and I want to buy myself out of this pathetic service provider. I still have 18 months left with Glocell and that wont’t even add up to R8000 so I just want out. I have only received poor and pathetic and unprofessional service and been told lies. Last year they even deducted money from my bank account without my authorization and up to today no-one can tell me who authorized these deductions.

Glocell I hate you and I want out. I will not take no for an answer.

Dear Klaryn,

GloCell has honoured the Cruise Promotion and in fact has accommodated over 1,000 subscribers already in doing so, plus their families. We regret that despite the managing agent’s reassurances that there would have been more than enough capacity of promotional TLC/MSC Cruises, it turns out that these have subsequently been depleted. Part of the promotional conditions however was that this was subject to promotional availability and that if needed, GloCell could provide a different reward hence the R8,000 Discount.

We regret that despite the managing agent’s reassurances that there would have been more than enough capacity of promotional Cruises, it turns out that this has subsequently been depleted and there is nothing that GloCell can do further.

Warm Regards

The GloCell Team
