Breach of contract

My Cell C contract which I originally had with Nashua Mobile, expired at the beginning of this year. On 29 April 2016, a couple of months after expiry, I officially gave notice of termination to Glocell. I received e-mail confirmation that my notice had been received and would be processed within 30 days as specified in the contract. On 31 May 2016, I followed up with Glocell, since I had not received confirmation of termination yet. It now seems to be treated as a new request, and in spite of various e-mails and telephone calls, I have been advised that "Your contract will be deactivated on the last day of June 2016 latest". This is unacceptable - what is the use of a contract if the supplier can just do as they please? In spite of my best efforts, the best response I've received is "Kindly be advised that your request for termination has been escalated to the relevant department as urgent termination". I want out - now!!!!
