So I was also one of the unfortunate customers who was moved to Glocell after the closure of Altech Autopage and what can I say? After all my years, first on Nashua Mobile, then Altech, have I ever experience such bad customer service! First it was with the upgrade of my handsets, were first they could not give me what we wanted - or was used to at Altech - then the delivery of the devices - and then the nightmare intensify with my billing in Oct 2017. All my numbers are "suppose " to have bill limits on them to ensure that I manage my finances in a responsible manner, however to get the shock of your life when your mobile bill jump from R2000 a month to more than R5000. After endless email correspondence - it is clear that Glocell will not take any responsibility for any of this, 1. as they implicate that we are responsible for the websites we access (this is disputable - as we got internet history on all the devices indicating none of the IP addresses were access) . 2. However, I need to know what happened to my limit request that was suppose to be impose on my phones? I do understand that if you still have data available and you access a website, that they cannot cut you halfway through it - however - the "billed" data usage was over different days, with zero amount usage in between..... 3. As I work for a technology company, I am fully aware of possible hacks etc and on requesting Glocell to ensure that our data was not hack, I got a blunt answer again via email 4. So I resend a limit decrease form to them on the 14th of November to set all my bill limits on ZERO, with a request to acknowledge once done - needless to say no acknowledgment 5. Just to receive another enormous bill for December usage? On re sending the email of the 14th of November, I did received a response back today that they have just done it for me??? So why on earth was this not done on my request of the 14th of November? 6. There call center clearly have more info on me personally, then what is allowed by the POPI act - just go listen to the call to the Glocell call center when I requested a sim swap.. 7. It will also be interesting to know where they recruit their call center staff, as on the hour long call to the call center with the sim swap, I was not sure if I was on prank call or not? 8. They clearly do not understand The Consumer Protection Act, No 68 of 2008, which came into effect on 31 March 2011.
I will never ever recommend Glocell to anyone and , I will bail of this miserable contract as soon as I can!
