******** debt collecting harassment

We are being harassed by this attorney firm for an alleged debt from nearly 29 years ago. In terms of the South African Prescription Act, such debts prescribe after 3 years if no legal action, judgment, or acknowledgement of debt exists. Despite multiple written requests, this firm has failed to provide: A copy of the original signed agreement. A full, dated statement of account. Proof of ownership/cession of the debt. Instead, they continue sending threatening payment demands, which is unfair and *********. I have escalated this matter to the NCR, the Credit Ombud, and other regulatory bodies. Yet this firm still refuses to comply with basic consumer-rights obligations. Consumers are urged to: Never acknowledge prescribed debt. Demand written proof. Report harassment immediately. This review is to publicly expose these unprofessional and non-compliant practices. Debt collectors must follow the law — ************ is not compliance.
