Sellers beware of getWorth
Sellers be warned about Getworth. I received a reasonable provisional offer on my 2021 vehicle which I wanted to trade in for a slightly larger vehicle. From the get go I found getting through to speak to anyone at getWorth a major problem. Calls to the main switchboard were just dropped after about 60 seconds on multiple occasions. E-mails went unanswered for an unacceptable time. I eventually secured an appointment for a final inspection on 28 December. I don’t live in Cape Town so had a drive of about an hour and a half. I also am almost 74 years old and in the festive season traffic it was a bit of an ordeal. The senior assessor whom I shall not name, examined the vehicle and shortly thereafter came to me and offered me R5995 less than the original quote. He claimed that the lower offer was due to the following: Vehicle Reconditioning Report: Damaged Areas Est Repair Cost Damage type Description Left Front Fender Scratch, Buff & Polish Left Rear Tyre MRF 165/70/14 Left Front Tyre MRF 165/70/14 Right Front Tyre MRF 165/70/14 Right Rear Tyre MRF 165/70/14 Left Rear Door R2 000 Prev Repairs Noted Sub Standard Repair/ Colour Difference Left Rear Fender R1 000 Blending Required Left Front Door R1 000 Blending Required Right Rear Fender Prev Repairs Noted, Buff & Polish Right Rear Door Prev Repairs Noted, Buff & Polish Bonnet Prev Repairs Noted Roof Prev Repairs Noted Right Roof Frame was sprayed. There is an edge on the inner that needs to be polished away Interior R1 500 Valet Full Polish and Valet I did not see my way clear to drive all the way back home and accepted the offer of R5995 less than the original offer. IMAGINE MY ABSOLUTE DISBELIEF WHEN LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER ON 29 DECEMBER, THE SAME VEHICLE WAS ADVERTISED ON GETWORTH’S WEBSITE AS FOLLOWS: Platinum car: newly new Exterior 4.5 Interior 4.5 Engine 5.0 Wheels 4.0 Test Drive 5.0 Overall 4.6 Valet R1500 for a small car??? Wow! Who valeted it, a celebrity? How can I possibly trust an organisation that does this to a client?
Obviously the “faulty” coachwork was not faulty, as there is no way the blending could have been done in less than 24 hours. I was conned. Shame on you getWorth. I purchased a replacement car from getWorth on the same day that I accepted the lower trade-in offer. I got good service and prompt feedback on enquiries from sales specialist Sameeg Susman. I did however insist on a Recon Report on the vehicle that I purchased after seeing the adverti*****t of the traded-in vehicle.
We would like to assure you that transparency is important to us. Our acquisitions manager has made contact with you to explain our process.
As mentioned, once we purchase a vehicle, we will load it on our platforms immediately. From here, our recon team will maintain the vehicle on the floor and action the necessary work (as per the notes on inspection). The pre-inspection offer for your vehicle was reduced to make provision for work needing to be done to the left side of the vehicle (respray and blend). Provision for a buff and polish was also made, which is a standard rate we receive from our supplier.
The work we noted to be done on your car has been queued to be completed next week. As mentioned, most of our suppliers are closed for the festive season and will only be opening in next week or 2.
We do hope that this clears up any misunderstanding.
Sincerely,
Get\Worth Team
