GetWorth - Think Twice
What a disappointment with GetWorth the past week.
I enquired on-line with GetWorth to determine if they would be interested in my 2018 Audi (Trade for R344000 and Retail for R392000) with very low millage. The response was almost immediately and I was impressed. However the final offer depended on a pre offer inspection at their premises. I took my car to their assessment centre and GetWorth knocked the price down with R 35000 claiming there was a problem with the exhaust system and that the front wind shield had to be replaced. I declined the offer and immediately made arrangements to check the exhaust system. The service centre reported all is working very well and there is no problems.
As for the windscreen I look it to automotive windscreen retail outlet and they could not find any reason why the windshield should be replaced. The windshield has no cracks in which warrants a replacement.
So beside the excellent service you receive from GetWorth one should be very careful with their offer. I suspect they just knock down the initial offer to increase their profit.
I raised the question, If I did sell my car to them would they have repaired the exhaust system and window.The answer I received did not sound very convincing. I fact some of the cars on the floor being ‘glued’. Same way they do it when there are small chips on the windshield which require attention (drill and glue).
So please think twice before you accept an offer from GetWorth. This experience I had with them will not be forgotten easily.
On the inspection, we noted various items we would need to touch up, replace or repair. This included: replacement of 2x tyres, replacement of an oxygen sensor, a windscreen replacement and the touch-up/repairs for various chips and dents noted. Our reconditioning amount came to around R18 000.
The windscreen had various chips on it, and therefore would need to be replaced in order to pass the roadworthy test. There were no recon notes referring to the exhaust system, unless you are referring to the replacement of the oxygen sensor? Or perhaps you are confusing us with another dealer?
All the items listed above are things we would need to do in order to get the car in a sale-ready condition.
The claims that we “knock clients down to increase profits” and “drill and glue” our cars, are false and baseless.
