getWorth car disaster

I'm 66 yrs old and I have bought well over a dozen cars for my family and myself. This has to rate as the worst car experience I have had in my life with a car retailer. Here's my story: For the month of September I had been in negotiations with getWorth regarding the sale of a 2018 HYUNDAI TUCSON 1.6 TGDI ELITE DCT AWD. On the 26th September a final offer was made to me by getWorth, which I accepted. I was told by email that the sales manager had put a reserve on the car for me. I was told to come in the following Monday, to do the documentation and pay either a holding deposit or in full for the car. I even told the salesperson to put a sold sign on the vehicle to ensure we didn't have any problems. I went in on Monday, sent all the forms in, paid for the car in full, and was told I would take ownership on either Thursday or Friday. Happy Days. Then on Tuesday morning I get a call from getWorth, "sorry the car has been sold to someone else". I was told only hours before I agreed with getWorth on Thursday, the car was sold to another party. The manager tells me the salesperson had not checked the system once during the entire sales period (4 working days) to see if the car was sold. The sales manager says he's so busy he can't push a button on his laptop to see if the car has been sold, even though he approved the deal. For a business that purports to be so tech savvy with controls and systems in place, I struggle to accept their explanation. But I have accepted their apology and will move on. However as I said in my first paragraph, getWorth has been my worst experience with a car retail business.

Hi Tim

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience you experienced during the purchase process. We understand your disappointment, especially after the expectation of securing the vehicle, and we deeply regret the miscommunication that occurred.

As discussed in our emails and numerous telephonic conversations, we have refunded you in full and have taken responsibility for the error. We also recognize that the process was further prolonged due to almost a month of negotiations around your trade-in, as you were seeking a higher value and made multiple lower offers on the Tucson. While we did our best to accommodate these requests, the situation became more challenging to finalize.

Despite this, you accepted our apology and requested that we continue sourcing a similar vehicle for you, which we are actively working on. It is, however, somewhat surprising that you chose to share your dissatisfaction publicly, particularly given your decision to proceed with doing business with us.

We respect your right to express your views, and we appreciate your continued interest.

Please don't hesitate to reach out directly if you have any further questions or concerns. We remain dedicated to making things right and earning back your trust.
Regards
The get\Worth Team
