Factual correct assessment of getWorth through my experience.

I will advise people to stay away. Dont be fooled with their new packaging of advertising used cars. I purchased the car May last year. The service centre advised me that I have to replace the gearbox and cont unit, radiator outlet and inlet hoses, front brake disc and pads, complete oil cooler, power steering fluid leak at power steering rack .... shortly after I bought the car from them I serviced the car and replaced many parts like shocks and mountings, etc I am so disappointed as I sold my previous car to them in optimum condition and wanting to go for something less expensive in the current economic environment they sold and I ended up with a mechanically lemon of a car, but they were advertising it in good condition. My personal view is that they patched up that car and gave it whatever star rating and placed it on their showroom. One mechanical fault is understandable for used car brought from any so called reputable company, but multiple mechanical faults, now that's unacceptable. I guess they do sell here and there cars that's worth it, however my experience with them is they sold me a lemon.

Dear Gustav;

Whilst we certainly empathise with your current situation; to lay the blame completely at our feet; and at the same time imply a threat in your review to our business and staff; is unfair and unacceptable to us.

We have assessed the transaction information that we have and note as follows:

The car was sold to you on the 31 May 2021 (12+ months ago)
The vehicle in question was 10 years old and had ~124 000km when it was delivered to you
You declined (and signed as such) to take any warranty options that were offered to you at point of sale; this when the risk of - - used vehicle ownership was explained to you. Should you have elected to protect your purchase these policies would have been able to provide a significant degree of protection at a much lower effective cost than you are currently exposed to
Our records show one aftersales item on 9 June 2021- a faulty door lock that we addressed; and further a message left for aftersales to call you on the 21st of June 2022 at ~13h00 which they failed to do which is an oversight on our part and for which we apologise
This car went through our standard inspection processes, passed roadworthy and was delivered with our GetSeven return policy and 30-day quality promise

Used vehicles are exactly that – used. If you want a risk-free purchase then we suggest you buy a car still under its manufacturer warranty or you add a warranty product to mitigate the obvious used car ownership risks – like many of our customers do. All vehicles suffer from wear and obviously the older they get and the more mileage they do the probabilities of failure increase. That is why older cars with higher mileage are much cheaper than newer cars.

Your review is one sided in its perspective. We cannot “predict” a failure in a car and frankly raising this more than 12 months into ownership and blaming us is patently unfair.

We consider this matter closed.

Regards;

Reviewer Update
You sold the car to me 31st May 2021 correct. I left the country for work 2nd June 2021.

9 June 2021- a faulty door lock you addressed that my wife was complaining about correct. Warning bells were ringing already in July ... bear in mind I am still out the country at work. I tell my wife its a second hand car maybe it just needs a service, however service wasn't yet due as it stood at that time. Anyway I instructed my wife to service the car. The car went for a service on 1st July 2021. Being a second hand car as you so kindly state, its discovered cambelt kit needs replacement, waterpump with cambelt, front shocks worn out, front shocks mountings worn out, stabilizer links worn out and leak, rear shocks worn out, etc

I tell my wife look I will only return say late July, maybe its best we just fix these things ourselves as we past the 7 day and/0r 700km money back guarantee. I took the loss like a man and moved forward with the repairs on 09 July 2021. I return mid July ... the car seem to be ok .... anyway I left In August again for work, while at work my wife starts complaining the car is giving numerous errors and for some reason the car don't want to switch off immediately and or start at times. Ok cool I said once I am home I will try to figure it out , its possible that it could be the tracker interfering with the control modules. So on my return I got mechanics to auto diagnostics ... well it just seems to get worse from here ... auto diagnostics cant really determine what's causing the fault errors, however the car keep on giving it. Eventually I called the tracker company asked them if they can move the tracker to a different location as I need to fault find what's causing the errors.

Tracker was moved eventually as I was dealing with other life issues. It turns out the errors still there. Between work and dealing with this car was just giving me stress.

I have been dealing with these issues into the new year whenever I was on leave, unfortunately I left for for 3 Jan 2022 and only return 28 April 2022.

Right back at it ... so now I have to put on new tires as well as the tires was losing traction that was on the car when I bought it.

Ok ... so new tires is on and I am still dealing with this numerous errors the dash board keeps giving me.

Car has not been performing right at all since late last year , but now the damn engine light goes on.

To keep this story short I took this car to 4 mechanics for auto diagnostics this year and they all tell me the same story.

Eventually I had it fully inspected at Group 1 service centre Kuilsrivier and Reeds N1 city service centre.

As I stated before the car currently has just over 138776 km.

Group 1 Kuilsrivier report:

P/SIDE HEADLIGHT BULB FAULT

L/SIDE INNER CV BOOT TORN

COOLANT LOW, NO ANTIFREEZE

OIL SMELLS BURNT

GEARBOX OIL LEAK (POSSIBLE HOLE IN GEARBOX)

OIL FILTER HOUSING LEAKING

BRAKE SHUDDER, REAR DISC

D/SIDE STE3ERING RACK LEAKING

ENGINE LIGHT ON & VEHICLE REV'S HIGH

GEARBOX FAULT CAUSING ENGINE LIGHT ON AND ITS CHANGUING VERY SLOW

Reeds n1 city:

COOLANT LOW - RADIATOR OUTLET AND INLET HOSES TO BE REPLACED

SHUDDER ON BRAKES - FRONT BRAKES DISC AND PADS TO REPLACED

OIL LEAK FROM ENGINE - OIL COOLER TO BE REPLACED

POWER STEERING LEAKING

GEARBOX NEED TO BE REPLACED OR REPAIR GEARBOX IF POSSIBLE AND REPLACE CONT UNIT

P/S CV BOOT BROKEN

Do you think all this is acceptable ?

Did you even inspect this car correctly ?

This matter is far from closed as far as I am concerned.
