**** Service

I've been paying my premiums religiously since May 25th 2020. In September when I decided to use the benefit I paid for 4 months, I was told that I had cancelled my policy. How embarrassing it was to sit amongst other people and be told that you cancelled something you never even used? So I called the next day and they apologized profusely for the inconvenienced caused. Sorted right?

Then today (29th October 2020) I receive a remittance from the institution saying that I owe the doctor I visited in September the consultation fee and the reason "member waiting period applicable" - Tariff Code 0190. What the hell?

So I call again. I speak to a gentleman called JP (ref no. for the call JP12:56 29/10/20 - Or that's what he told me to use as a reference no). He speaks to his colleague and confirms that it was a mistake or as he said "a glitch on their system". He'd forward the claim to the claims department and have them pay it. Again, he is sorry for the inconvenience. When I asked him to forward me an e-mail stating that the problem would be resolved by Getsavvi and give me a reference number for the call, his tone immediately changed. "E-mails take 15 to 20 minutes to be sent". When I asked for as reference no., he said "JP, the time and the date". How can I be wrong for wanting proof in case I get summonsed by a lawyer for a service I've been paying for?

This is the second embarrassment in less than 6 months. What are you paying your employees for if all they do is mess peoples accounts up?

At JP... I don't know who you are Sir and vice versa. I do not appreciate the attitude you gave me towards the end of our call. Advising on claim queries is your job. If you don't like the query or you not happy with the requests you are getting with regards to the calls you answer, please find another job because call centres are not for you.

Last week I had a rash and decided to use the "Feel Better Fast" part of my benefits. The nurse who assisted me... sweet lady... looks at my rash, tells m what the cause of it is and says "Well Getsavvi gives us very few options on what we can prescribe". Cheap over the counter medication is what I got. I'm restricted to only using one of three chemists in the whole of Port Elizabeth just to give me cheap over the counter medication. I could've bought those tablets and cream for under R60.

I really think I've made a mistake to join this scheme. Urgently seeking an affordable medical aid that won't give me the trouble I'm getting now!!
