Disgusting treatment from GetSavvi after an emergency
I’m on GetSavvi health , a pensioner with chronic conditions. I caught a very bad stomach bug which turned into a bacterial infection after having taken OTC meds and trying whatever to get better . 5 days down everything I took orally was coming out and one evening things took a turn for the worst. Started vomiting also and feeling very weak , as a diabetic who had not been able to get food down , hypertension among many other conditions had not been able to keep any fluids or medication down I decided to call GetSavvi to get advice . The online nurse advised that I go to the ER due to the fact that it was after hours and Dr’s rooms were closed and put me through to the authorizations department who also confirmed that I should and could go to the ER . Authorised everything and got to the hospital and paperwork was there. I was put on a drip due to bad dehydration, bloods and stool samples were taken where Drs were very concerned . Weeks later I get sent the hospital bill because GetSavvi health deemed it as not a code red emergency and therefore rejected my claim . Why are clients not advised that if you get to the hospital and not a code red , and the Drs want to keep you further for tests to rather get up and go ? Do you actually read the results and see what the patient was treated for and are we supposed to wait till almost dying before we go to the Emergency?im utterly disgusted and feel ill treated after having followed all procedures and being authorised to go in and being treated only to later find out I wasn’t “ bad enough “. Are people taken to be so stupid to just go to the emergency for the sake of going even after authorisation from your own advisors. I used to speak highly about GetSavvi until this inhumane incident . Tell people , that rather get to a dire stage before calling them for an emergency because they will tell you lies and ill advise you and you’ll end up in trouble later !!!! Shame on you
