Supplying 'grey' imports that don't work.

I signed up for an Amazon account and it was recommended that I purchase a Fire-Stick in order to view Amazon content. I duly ordered such a device from GeeWiz, but it would not work! On enquiry with Amazon, I was informed that the device I had been supp**** was unsuitable for use in South Africa; there is a (different) Amazon Fire-Stick designed for use locally. My question is this: why would a South African supplier sell me a useless product when the appropriate equivalent is available? I inquired of GeeWiz whether they would consider an exchange, whereupon the pointed me to the small-print on their website that stated that for the device to work, "... you will need a VPN at around $5 per month". I responded that as I was a loyal customer (having used their service 4 or 5 times recently), would they consider an exchange. They didn't bother to respond.

Reviewer Update
OK. So, it seems I have been unfair. Following the publication of the above review, GeeWiz have made the effort to reach out to me personally a number of times by telephone. It would appear their email got caught in a spam folder (they offered me a full refund). So, although this site suggests that GeeWiz has not responded, I can assure you they have. I have revised my opinion of them and will, once again, be supporting them. Their prices are good and their delivery is always efficient. GeeWiz, I'm sorry to have rushed to judgement. You are among the Good Guys after all.
