Cheap but bad service

The only good thing they have going for them is undercutting prices but it shows in the lack of professional management. I would suggest looking elsewhere so that you don't have to deal with their incompetence when something you bought has an issue. I suspect some of the reviews here are ****.

I bought an inverter with batteries a couple of months ago. The unit seemed to be working at first but failed to charge up after the first discharge with load shedding.

My brother took the device in and the one manager guy was so rude and impatient, and kept on insisting that the unit works and that the problem is with my house power. Now I am skilled with electricity and electronics, and that is a wild assumption to make without proper testing. There is nothing wrong with my house power, we had it tested and no other electric device has any problems with the power.

I took the device in again since it was not charging at any place. The one technitian hooked it up and tested it using a multimeter. He could tell within 5 minutes that there is a problem with the inverter's charging. I stood by and was releaved someone knew what they were doing.

Then this manager dude comes in, does not believe the technician, starts ordering workers around to hook up different batteries and a heater to test the discharge. After 30 minutes of him just doing random things, he concludes the same as the technician did. The manager dude only looked at the inverter's screen, and did not measure with a multimeter which explains why he was so confused and wasted 30 minutes. Why not trust your technician that understands the equipment?! This guy was even eating a pear while busy there, does not chew with his mouth closed and puts his sticky hands on everything. What a joke.

This manager then rips off the inverter and tells me to take it in to Mustek. I ask him to deal with it since it's their responsibility and I can't be driving up and down during working hours. He insists that I take it in cause I live closer to Mustek in Midrand but I believe they don't want to deal with delivery fees. I then descided to just take the inverter in to Mustek since then I don't have to deal with this guy anymore and I don't have to drive back to Johannesburg with the rediculous traffic.

Mustek repaired the device but it blew out again, and then had to replace the main board. At least the inverter is working now but I spent so much time and money on petrol. I would easily have paid 2k more for the unit at another place if I knew this company is so bad with after sales services.
