Phones ****** for Africa

<p><br />On the 5th of February this year, I was shopping at MrPrice, Gateway. Whilst shopping, my phone was taken out of my closed bag and ******. I went straight to the manager of the store and reviewed the camera footage. He said that I could review the footage but it wouldn't make a difference. The ***** could not be found in the store afterwards and it was not possible to definitely identify the *****, due to the position of the camera and the low quality image. The manager of informed me that this has occurred several times in the store even in the same spot and in the mall in general. After leaving the store I went to MTN to blacklist my phone and deactivate my sim card. Whilst in the store another customer overheard my situation and said that her sister's phone was also ****** about a year ago and that she has also heard of several other incidents. She pressed on the matter that nothing is being done and nobody cares. Since then she has always been paranoid in Gateway and felt unsafe.</p> <p> </p> <p>If this is a severe problem in the mall, why is nothing being done? Why are no preventative measures being taken? Customers should be informed that this is a problem in the mall, so that they can be more aware and vigilant. Unfortunately I only heard of Google's find my phone function when it was already too late.</p>
