3yr old touched inappropriately at Go Wild kids play area at Gateway Shopping Centre

<p>This weekend my wife, our 3 year old and I were visiting family in Durban. On Sunday, we all went to the Go Wild kids play spot at the Gateway Shopping Centre in Umhlanga. The kids were left to play in the coordinated area under the supervision of Go Wild staff, while we sat at the adjacent restaurant.</p> <p>An hour had passed with the kids playing and coming to eat and going back to play.</p> <p>Then, I was shocked at what I witnessed next, a man in the play area lifting up my 3yr old girl by her left arm with one hand. I ran to the play area, shouting and asking him what he was doing. We immediately took our kids out of the play area and asked to speak to the manager. My wife asked the man what did he think he was doing and he rep****: "I was just playing with her".</p> <p>The manager, Kim, was extremely dismissive and rude and after asking her why her staff were handling my kid her response was that, she did not know who this guy was and she only has ladies working in the play area. This was even more concerning so while speaking to her on the phone, I asked the front desk manager who the guy was and he mentioned that he worked at the bar in the adjacent restaurant and he did not know what the guy was doing in the play area.</p> <p>Given the growing concern of *****philia in our country, I was absolutely shocked at the level of security enforced at the Go Wild child play establishment. Surely, you cannot just allow grown men to enter into a kiddies play area and start touching the children. It would seem that anyone could enter the kiddies play area, with no sort of screening and no sort of consideration for the toddlers was implemented.</p> <p>Why was he allowed to enter the play area and why was he allowed to pick up my kid with all the staff and managers standing by and just watching? These were some of the questions I put to the front desk manager, which he started defending by explaining that it has nothing to do with him as the guy does not work there.</p> <p>Surely, that is all the more reason it does have something to do with Go Wild establishment because he is in their play area. In addition to lack of concern, he wanted to start physically fighting when my frustration levels increased.</p> <p>As a front desk manager, his preference was to resort to violence because Go Wild establishment allowed someone into its play area and that person touched my child inappropriately which resulted in me getting upset.</p> <p>I called Kim back and she mentioned that because I was rude, that is the reason he wanted to fight. It is unbelievable that the emphasis moved from a person who was not allowed to be in the play area and thus a potential threat to the children in that area to me being rude to the from desk manager. Shocking !!!</p> <p>I still have no idea or explanation why that guy was allowed in the play area and it is for this reason that I am writing to you. I would like to make other parents aware of the lack of security measures at Go Wild when leaving their kids in this play area.</p> <p>Regards,<br />Dr. JPillay</p>
