I wish I had never bought here!
I bought a unit at Cedar Acres in 2015 from Galencia as a landlady. The complex is continually plagued with water and electricity cuts. On top of that, the internal fittings are sub standard and as a result I had a burst flexi pipe recently, which caused several thousand rands worth of damage to my unit and the unit underneath. The body corporate insurance is not taking responsibility for this and nor is Galencia - so now i am left with a unit that is costing me an insane amount of money to fix. This is extremely unfair! The level of material used is just not good enough - what's worse is that we cannot even sell any units due to Galencia being under investigation at the moment - so banks are not granting bonds - how is this even legal?! I am very disappointed with this purchase and wish I had never bought with them
We are terribly sorry for this unfortunate situation; however as a developer, we do not have the authority to cut or reconnect water or electricity within the estate, this has become the responsibility of the body corporate and municipality, however, we are continuously working with them regarding the issues that cause our residents difficulties within the estate to ensure that you receive the best value for your money.
We’ve also investigated the snags that you are currently faced within your property, but this will be difficult since the warranty on the unit has lapsed, however, our maintenance team will look into it to assist whatever they can.
Please note that we are also in the process of changing the body corporate for the estate, and this resulted in a lack of feedback from the insurance side. Once we’ve handed it over to the new body corporate, we will follow up with them and remind them to contact you to assist in the implementation of the insurance payments.
We are continuously working with our body corporate to rectify any difficulties hindering our resident’s convenience in the estate,
