First time buyers - shocked and disappointed in Galencia

Where do I start? In March 2021, my husband and I viewed the Walford. We were so happy with the unit and the price. We got pre-approval and we decided we wanted the unit as soon as possible. We filled in the offer to purchase the following day and sent all our documents in 2 hours. We were asked to pay a security deposit of R20 000 and we did this immediately. We received the signed offer to purchase a week later. Thereafter there was nothing. We got feedback that banks are not processing any new bonds due to the estate having to sort a few things out. We became frustrated. We were dragged along for 6 months. This is the first time we are purchasing a home and it has been a horrible experience. Because of this delay, we have suffered in other areas of our life. It is also an inconvenience because now we have to look for another place and go through the whole process again. Today, we have canceled and asked for our deposit back. I am sad that I won't have the unit I wanted. How is fair that 90% of the units are occupied but only we can't buy the one we want.
