Futurama & Nicolas Yale Gun Distributor/Importer Bad Service, Warranty Futurama return / ORDER # ***; ***

I purchased my GAMO C-14 Air (CO2) Pistol from futurama.co.za on 5 November 2024. My GAMO CO2 air pistol was taken in for warranty repair assessment & sent off to the Supplier Nicolas Yale.

There was a visible pellet stuck in the barrel & the magazine is stuck as well and not ejecting. I have only used GAMO 4.5mm pellets & replaced the CO2 canisters regularly.

Today Alex from Futurama (***) called me to say that the Supplier sent it off to a gunshop they use to removed the 21 pellets & that the air gun & magazine is fine but there is a quote for R600 repair as the CO2 gas was likely the cause of the pellets not ejecting.

This has been a problem of stuck pellets & I have only used fresh(full) co2 12g cartridges from November when I purchased the air pistol. It usually ejected after a stuck pellet.

The GAMO C-15 air pistol has a 12 month guarantee. This is a blatant defect of this retail item as I have found by online searches, a common problem.

I have told Futurama staff that I only used full co2 canister when using this GAMO C-15 air pistol. They insist that the supplier is charging R600. The air pistol come with a 12 month warranty/guaranty.

I have asked Alex & Michael for the correspondence from the Importer/Distributor Nicolas Yale.

I have had numerous issues with this product from the beginning with stuck pellets. Now it was worse because the pellet magazine was also stuck creating an unusable malfunction which could have caused serious injury. I have followed all the instruction & only used original GAMO pellets as well as fresh meaning fully operation gas canister of the 12g type.

 Good day Mr Adriaanse,

As discussed over email and phone calls, we are just as upset at the report from our supplier about the air pistol, as mentioned they found no issue with the unit other than the 21 pellets which had to be cleaned out of the unit.

You mention the issue came up before, and you resolved it by "shooting through" the problem. Normally any issues should be mentioned and brought to us, as when it jammed the first time, it is possible it was under warranty cover. Based on time alone, it could be warranty coverable, but based on the findings from our suppliers technical team, the warranty was voided due to incorrect maintenance and usage.

The fee which was quoted, was for cleaning the pellets out, and ensuring the pistol is still operational, and given it was caused by incorrect use, the warranty will not cover the damage done to the unit.

We offered what advise we could at the time, and while we are unable to refund the unit, or purchase it back as you requested, we still tried to assist as far as possible.

We are deeply sorry about the experience with this unit, but we are not obligated to take a unit past our stated 7 day return policy, especially as the unit was damaged out of warranty. We even arranged for the technical team to have contact with you, who explained their own processes and policies, and they confirmed in a call there after that all was settled and an understanding was reached.

For us, seeing a review of 1 star based on your disastisfaction around an issue, which was confirmed by the distributor and their repairs technician as user fault, is unfair towards Futurama.
