Fungi Utilities exist to rip you off, RUN if you can.

1. Fungi Utilities charges you to top-up on their wallets. For a R1000 top-up you remain with R950 in your wallet before using any electricity or water.

2. You will be charged management fees of up to R200 after they charged you wallet fees.

3. I stay at an M&T property and the Hot Water billing doubles every six months. When they took over in Oct 2023 their daily rate was around R7.45, 2024 the rate increased to about R16.20 and today (2025) our daily rate is at R32.39. The rate at which we take showers has not changed but their billing escalates every month and their agents tell you it is prorata while there are fewer tenants occupying and using hot water now.

4. You pay for communal sewarage, communal electricity, communal water on top of your own Sewarage, Electricity, Sanitation and Water that you consume in your apartment. I don't understand why i am paying for the Secutiry Guards toilets and heaters or their staff rooms and garden water when i have already paid rent. Surely the upkeep of the property should be their own corporate expenses.

5. On days when there is no electricity due to cable theft, you are still billed for the nonexistent electricity so is the hot water, and this is happening at least once a week.
