Not accepting 5 cent pieces

Was at Fruit and Veg (cannot call it Food *****s at is is absolutely awful) in George today and the bill came to R45.35 and the cashier asked me for R45.40 as they do not take 5c pieces. I asked why she did not round off to 30c and she said that then she would be short when cashing up and this was their policy. There was a lady manager that overheard this but did not intervene, I counted out 35c and made her take the 5c as I am not aware of the Reserve bank withdrawing these coins yet. Since when can a business conduct a **********/******* business like this. Never heard of anything like this before as most shops now round off to 10c in the customer's favour. I look forward to this shop explaining this and hope this alerts other shoppers to this store *****ing from the consumer.<br>
