Expired Chicken OFF/BAD within Best Before date

I bought chicken from Fruit and Veg City, Access Park in Kenilworth. The label on the chicken was 'budget pack' or something to that effect. It cost +- R17.98. The expiry date or best before date on the chicken was 03/07/15. Upon opening the chicken I immediately noticed a foul smell. It smelled sour and a bit like rotten egg. I wanted to cook it because it was within the best before date, but upon cooking it, the smell only worsened. It smelled like a dead dog. The money is not the issue here, the fact that ones health is put at risk because a supplier insists on selling off/bad chicken under the auspices of it being within the expiry date, is the issue. people can get seriously sick from this kind of negligence. If a person is buying 'budget' prepacked chicken, it is probably because they aren't very wealthy, therefore if they were to get food poisoning from this off/bad chicken, they wouldn't even be able to go to the doctor. Fruit and Veg, this is unacceptable, if the chicken is off/bad, do not sell it to the public with best before dates that are completely misleading. I had to throw the chicken in the outside bin because whilst cooking it, my entire house reeked.
