Bad avos

<p>I bought two avos from Fruit and Veg at Fig Tree in Port Elizabeth a wekk ago. They were not ripe at the time, which was perfect because I knew then they would not go off to quickly. I took them home and wrapped then in newspaper and placed them in a dark cupboard, like you're supposed to when you want to speed up the rippening process. They are still not ripe and they have been in the cupboard for a week now, They are as hard as the day i bought them. I have a sinking feeling that they are going to end up going rotten before they rippen.</p>
