Unauthorised credit report request

This company just called me now and without my consent, when on to request my credit report claiming that I gave consent. This is completely unacceptable. I don’t even need or want your service but your agent jumped to make an enquiry on me unauthorised.

He asked if he’s speaking to me. I responded by asking him to whom I was speaking. I never said yes that’s me.

He went on to call out my ID number and confirm that it’s mine. I asked where he got my information from and I am not comfortable issuing that out. He explained they got it from NCR.

The next thing I get a text to say I gave request for him to request my credit report.

Absolutely unauthorised. And I questioned him why in the world he did that, and he responded by saying I gave him my name and confirmed my ID number!!! And wanted to argue with me about that. After I reiterated what responses I gave him he just simply apologised for the “inconvenience”, said he’ll remove my details from the database and then hung up.

I am livid and will be taking this further.
