Exorbitant charges enable on FREENOW app

I used the FREENOW app to order a taxi from Palermo to Cefalu in Sicily. The app did not give me a final price for the trip. I was billed 25 euros straight away and thought this was the cost of the trip. When I arrived at my destination I was billed again bringing the cost of the trip to 250 euros. The usual fare for this trip I later discovered is 143-150 euros. My friends paid 190 euros from Palermo airport to Cefalu which is a longer distance. I contacted FREENOW and they tried to explain and gave me a 25 euro refund. I was not satisfied with the explanation which depended on metering of the ride. There was no visible meter in the taxi. Since the app enables such cheating I will never use it again and would advise others not to use it.
