Vouchers are just plastic cards and mean nothing ! Lost vouchers

I purchased 2 x vouchers @R500 each in May 2022 from Foschini in Hemmingways, East London. I accidentaly threw them away in the bin as they where in a packet with my clothing purchases. I went into Foschini to have the 2 x voucher cards cancelled, Foschini told me that they cannot trace the vouchers as the receipt does not have the full voucher numbers on the receipt. Why does Foschini take your ID number and why do they use your cash customer card if nothing related to you can be traced? Then they give me two email addresses to email regarding this query and both emails bounce back - therefore not even working. When we approached them again, they tell us that the voucher is just a peace of plastic and that money is gone!!! How can I just leave R1000 worth of vouchers? I am massively upset at the unprofessionalism of this company. i dont want a refund - I just want new vouchers!
