Sold Me **** Air Jordan Sneakers

This is my first and worst shopping experience at a South African retail store, never ever in my life have I had an experience like this. The Foschini Group is a major retailer and yet their after service is the worst I have encountered. It all begins with the puchase of a pair of Air Jordan's at the Archive Store in Cavendish Square, Claremont, Cape Town on the 31 July 2017 on my Sportscene account for R1799. I wore the sneakers twice and only after a while I notice something strange in the Jumpman emblem at the rear of the right shoe which was brought to my attention by a friend, when compared to another pair of the same shoes. There seems to be what looks like a shadowy duplicate imprint of the Jumpman and "AIR" logo on one shoe at the back. I had some friends mock me saying its a **** which was kind of embarrassing seeing that we were in a public place and everyone turning around to look at my shoes was humiliating but so I just thought I would take it up with Foschini and bring it to their attention.

I emailed CScomplaints on the 22nd of August and this was their reply...

Good Day again...

This will be the last time I email TFG. I expect a resolution within 48 hours regarding my complaint. I paid R1799 for a pair of Air Jordan's from the Archive store in Cavendish Square on the 31/07/2017. I paid that amount of money for a decent pair of sneakers, I have a ankle fused with titanium *****s which requires I wear decent shoes to minimize the pain I experience when walking. When buying from TFG I always know I am buying good quality products. This purchase however has been very disappointing and embarrassing. Like I said in my previous email after wearing the sneakers on a few occasions some friends advised me that my shoes are "knock offs" because the Air Jordan jumpman logo is duplicated on the one shoe which first of all was very embarrassing when pointed out in a crowd which I mentioned in my previous email which was apparently escalated to the Sports Division but to this day I have not received any further feedback whatsoever. This sort of customer service is appalling. I am sure I could of purchased the same "knock offs" somewhere on the street in Bellville for about R500. I am a customer service support agent for an international company and know a thing or two about good customer service. I have sent two emails regarding this experience and the turnaround time to resolve this has been very bad. Whenever I make a purchase at a TFG store I am quick to return the NPS surveys that is emailed to me but I suppose your customer interaction stops there.

So, like I said before, you have 48 hours to resolve this, no response in that time will see me going to social media, Twitter, Facebook, Hello Peter, local newspapers and the Consumer Protector then I will pay up my account and close it.

So now you may ask why did I not go back to the store. I work awkward hours, I am always tired and really do not feel like dealing with the store where I purchased this shoes.

I first lodged this complaint on the 22/08/2017. Up until now the 28/10/2017 with no solution.

I expect some sort of communication with a solution soon that will compensate me accordingly.

Regards, Jennino Speelman

Then I waited yet again...

This time received a phone call from the manager I think who advised me to bring the shoes to the store the following Saturday which I could not do. I ended up going to the store on the 6th of November but then the staff advised me they could not do the return for me and credit my account because there was no one that could authorize it. Instead I was told to come back the next day which I was unable to do.

Then I sent them this...

Hello again...

Just an update.

I must say this has been a very bad shopping experience from a TFG store, I went back today to the Archive store in Cavendish and the staff there could not even do a return and credit my account for selling me a pair of **** Jordan's. What I do not understand is that they could sell me **** sneakers but could not return it because the manager was not there and instead told me to come back the next day, this whole debacle has become a inconvenience.

I am utterly disappointed that it went this far. When I called up customer service I told them I want my account credited and I want a new pair of sneakers for the embarrassment I had to endure and now almost a week later there still is no resolution.

Then again who am I kidding sending this emails. No one ever responds in any case.

Regards, Just another customer who means nothing.

I then received a call the following day from the manager telling me I must bring the shoes back on Wednesday then he will get me in the store and we can discuss it further. I returned to the store and they did the credit but did not even think of compensating me for the embarrassment and humiliation, instead I was offered a 20% discount on a pair of Sneakers which I refused because I will never shop at Foschini/Archive again. This experience has really pulled the skin of my face, maybe it's because I am not a vocal person that vents frustration easily...maybe I might just be someone that people can walk over and think it's OK. Truth be told it's not OK, how can a retailer of high quality and standards sell **** Sneakers for R1799, I mean like I said in my email I could most likely purchased a pair of **** Air Jordan's for less than half of what I paid at the Archive store and it would not even look defective.

So to end it all, when they finally credited my account for the **** Jordan's, I paid up my balance and closed my account.

Goodbye TFG.
