Socking system with an arrogant manager

My sister had bought my son shoes at foschini in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday 30/11/16. When we returned home (Queenstown) on Thursday, my son fitted the shoes and they were too small and so we went to Foschini in Nonesi Mall to exchange them. We found the same pair at the shop n just needed to exchange them (I had the slip with me). A very helpful assistant tried to help me in locating the size i needed and said she cant exchange the shoes for me but she will ask the manager. When she was asked the manager she firmly said NO we dont do that. If the shoes were bought on account then they cant exchange unless the account holder signs. I told her i find that so strange in this day and age because if someone buys you a gift from PE with their account and you live somewhere else then they cant exchange it? Thats so not right. It's not as if i want money for the shoes, i want the exact same shoes. I told them i just exchanged shoes at woolworths that we also bought in PE without even a slip and they exchanged it. The manager arrogantly told me they are not woolworths and i can lay a complaint if i want to. I feel that with so many advanced systems out there, foschini should really look at accomodating this. People buy people things all the time, and we traffic through South Africa daily. Should my sister now drive 4 hours to sign for the exchange of these shoes? This is unfair. What am i gonna do with these shoes now foschini?

I would just like to thank Sipho, the Regional manager of foschini for his assistance. He is really helpful, dedicated and upholds customer service. He's not a regional manager just by name, he knows what he's doing. Cant say the same about the arrogant branch manager who was still unapologetic about her behaviour and conduct. I got to exchange my son's shoes so all was well in the end. Thanks again Sipho
