SMS for 'late payment' even though account's paid
I have a debit order that goes off every month on the 1st. Like clockwork, on the 2nd I get the following sms from Foschini, 'Alert! Your FOSCHINI acc (account number) is now in arrears. Please pay (amount) today or call ***. Ignore if already paid.'

I ignore the sms because I know my account has been paid. What I can't ignore is the fact that every month, I am billed over R2.00 for that sms even though my Foschini account has been paid. Seems petty, right? R2 a month is nothing to complain about but, think of it like this, if that sms is sent to 100 000 people who HAVE PAID THEIR accounts, Foschini is collecting R200 000 a month for sending an sms for no reason to good clients who have paid.

I understand that it is 'an automated sms sent by the computer etc' but seriously, send the sms out on the 5th or something when the banks have had time to run through the system and CORRECTLY list the people who still haven't paid their accounts.

If the first is on a Sunday, payment automatically happens on the 2nd. This is of NO fault on behalf of Foschini clients who rely on debit orders. That is matter between Foschini and the banks for not working on Sundays.
