Sells bubblegum tablet but does not insure the product

I bought a bubblegum tablet for my child at the Hi store in Promenade Mall. And i asked the sales consultant what insurance cost for the tab would be, he said roughly R79 and i said add it pls.

Anyway i walk there he didn't add insurance. I went back yesterday and asked to add insurance as the sales assistant didn't before. Then the sales consultant tried and the system said they dont insure bubblegum tablets,,,,, how do you sell something but you dont insure it? Does it make sense? Why didn't the sales assistant advise this beforehand to look at alternatives that can be insured?
