samples on expensive products

I was at Foschini Promenade Mall yesterday 06 june 2015, approaching the elizabeth arden counter i asked the consultant if i can have a a sample of the product first before i buy she said no they don't give samples i said i just want to test it for a day to feel if its oily when i have foundation on .Because 2weeks prior she sold me a 8 hour day cream which is to oily under my foundation and i waisted money on a product i have not tested , she never took the time to test my skin , shes not friendly at all and i felt as if she was judging me by the way i look. I wanted just a sample of the elizabeth arden illuminating face cream before i buy it because it costs more than 500 rand.I already wasted my money on the 8 hour cream that is not suitable for my skin .I told her in canal walk foschini the ladies are so heplfull. She made excuses as to why she could not give me a sample , she first mention to me that elizabeth arden dont provide sample and then she said she dont have a container to put it in. its totally unfair to buy a expensive skin product where no samples are offred. Im going to write a letter to the company and to understand more why i cant get a sample of the product
