Not Removing Money Owed even though settlement was paid - TFG

When we initially called TFG and asked for assistance, we were referred to HTN attorneys.

We then contacted HTN Attorneys , they were kind enough to negotiate a settlement amount of R11 343. I paid this amount on the 10th of January 2020. I went through a USSD process with HTN Attorneys for proof of payment and they had received the amount agreed upon.

Once the amount was settled, my wife then received numerous calls from TFG, stating that they did not agree to any settlement amount and that there is an outstanding balance of just over R2000 – I’ve worked in many different call centres, so I understand fully the bad debt collections process – from handing over client to law firms , with these law firms specialising in bad debt to law firms purchasing bad debt client data and collecting the monies owing.

My issues are as follows :

• My wife is still being harassed about an amount owing – Initially when we called into TFG, no one wanted to assist, once they found out we paid the entire amount, there was an interest and all of a sudden an outstanding amount. • My wifes’ credit profile has now been negatively affected due to this one account and she was unsuccessful for a job that she had app**** for – keeping in mind, we have been hit very hard financially as I am the only person working in the house and had to endure pay cuts. • Her credit profile still shows a balance of R2788 that she owes • It is June 2020 , we’ve paid this account in Jan 2020 and this bad credit has affected my wifes profile for almost 6 months now. • My wife has also been met with very hostile staff at TFG when she explains the account has been paid

the above was sent to the ombudsman and TFG and everyone has just sent it from pillar to post.

My wife, neither have I been contacted and it;s disgusting that given the times we in, you are not willing to assist.
