Mislead Customer

Earlier today I visited the Gateway Mall and whilst shopping i went to the Foschini store, upon entrance i saw a Kim Kardshain Beauty hair iron ( 1.5 flat iron ) and picked up the box. The price on the box was R289.50 so i decided to take it ( no consultant was there to assist ) from there i went to the revlon counter and saw some nail polish and took that as well. Upon me getting to the till i asked that a replacement card be made for me as i misplaced the original one, that assistant advised that a fee of R45.00 will be charged which i had no problem in paying. A cashier by the name of Terance assisted me with my purhcase, was polite towards me. Once all 3 items were rung up he advised that the total amount that will be charged on my card will be around R3028.00, i questioned him as to why that amount he then advised that the hair iron is R2895.00 so i showed him the price on the box that it was marked for. He then advised that he will consult with his manager and he will give it to me at the price it was marked for. After a while both Terance and Emmanuel ( Manager ) came to me and then advised that it was an error as stock was recieved this moring and that the consultant that prices the item made a mistake. Then another lady to which i don't her name came to us and advised that she will not give me the item at the price and made me feel as though i am dumb because it is a Kim Kardshian Iron and that i will never get it at that price. My point is it was marked at that price by your staff so i don't what the problem is. I refused to pay the price of R2895.00. As a customer it is not my problem or issue if staff are *********** in doing their jobs by marking an item incorrectly, they should have doubled or trippled check to ensure the right price is on the item.

As per the Consumer Protection Act please take the following into consideration:

A retailer displays the incorrect price in a shop
The general principle is that a supplier cannot display goods for sale without displaying a price in relation to those goods. The exception to this rule is if the goods in question are being predominately used as a form of adverti*****t.

If there is an error in the price, the supplier cannot insist that the consumer pay a higher price for the goods or services than the one they display. If more than one price is displayed, the consumer is not required to pay the higher of the two prices displayed. However, this does not apply if a new price fully covers an old price.

Right now i am a very angry and frustrated customer, i wish that the matter be resolved and that the item i want is given to me at the price that i saw it for. I have pictures of the item with the price it is marked at however i am unable to upload the picture
