Mark up's

Yesterday at the Fochini store in Newtown junction, I purchased a black pants. The price on the tag was blacked out with a marker but still visible as R320.00. When i got to the pay point, I asked the lady what the price is now and she scanned it as R399.00. I asked her why is it R399 when the blacked out price clearly states R320.00. She said it is because they add mark ups.<br> I think it is totally disgusting how Fochini tries to **** clients into paying more for a piece of clothing by blacking out the original price and then claiming a mark up. I'm pretty sure it goes against the CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT as well. I kept the receipt and the tag from the pants and I will definitely take this matter further should I not receive a response from Fochini.
