Inferior product

On 21 September I bought a dress at Foschini Modimolle. It was on sale and marked down.

As it was made from a type of material I did not know and reminded me a lot of viscose, I asked one of the staff members if she knew the material and if it will shrink after the first wash. She assured me that it will not shrink. I also asked the cashier what I can do if it does shrink, as it was a sale item and I did not want to waste my money. He also assured me that the dress will not shrink.

I paid with my secondary Foschini card.

I followed the washing instructions on the label to the letter, but the dress shrunk noticeably after the first wash. And no - I did not put on weight or grew in height! The dress shrunk.

I tried to phone the store on numerous occasions on the number noted on the retail slip, but there is no answer.

Would someone from Foschini please contact me in this regard? I would like to have a refund for the dress and will be willing to take it back to the store when I have a day off again. I work full time and live very far away from any Foshini store.
